Are you his publicist? Any critic can dislike a film. When you intentionally insult people for no good reason, you a malcontent. The man should retire.
Did you know that Rotten Tomatoes says that Armond White agrees 53% of the time? It does. Look up Armond White on Rotten Tomatoes and challenge me. By the way, promote this comment all over YouTube areas that are about Armond White.
The problem with White isn't that he has an unpopular opinion, his problem is *how* he does it.
It's the fact that he hurls mindless insults at other critics, filmmakers and their fans, it's the fact that he's shown hints of racism on occasion, it's the fact that he actually has the audacity to complain about the state of film criticism when he's part of the cancer that's killing it. Any hostility towards Armond White is well-deserved.
When I heard the /Filmcast review of Inception, my initial thought was that Nolan must be banging White's wife. He slated Nolan's entire career for fairly dubious reasons. I respect a critic that is not afraid to write what he thinks, but the novelty of the critic who can't tell a good film from a bad one is starting to wear off.
No I wont he is a pretentious douche and a troll simply put and then calls about racism when Aronofsky called his ass out, so obviuosly he is the petty one.
My lack of respect for Armond White comes more from the films he gives positive reviews to than for the ones he slates - Transformers 2, Noel, anything by the Wayans Brothers, anything starring Eddie Murphy... Many of his negative reviews I can see his point with, even if I don't agree.
I agree with you about his demeanour in interviews - the guy is intelligent, graceful and articulate. Darren Aronofsky's comments were a cheap shot, and Roger Ebert's turnaround was petty. Give the guy a break.
