Like others have said, in the US some recreational leagues ask referees to show coaches the cards if needed to control the game. This is likely one of those leagues. Our competitive leagues do not show cards to coaches as we know this is wrong. @seetah2007 you sound like a prick and @RedCardMagician with a name like that, seriously doubt you're a 4. @DOAKATO please excuse my fellow Americans as I enjoy working with Canadian referees here in the States.

@seetah2007 Actually Seetah, I get evaluated every year and get very good results. How about you? How long have you been reffing? Oh wait, given your attitude, I highly doubt you coach, let alone referee, soccer.

@SanLorenzoAFA No, I wouldn't know that SanLorenzo. I am a referee in Canada. here, all youth leagues obey the laws of the game and have no regulations concerning showing cards to coaches.

@PeteRfoXunDso That's kind of harsh thing to say. I'm an American and I completely understand this sport . . . both as a fan and as a referee. This game is probably part of a developmental or recreational league that asks coaches to be show yellow/red penalty cards (of course, I completely disagree) its done because of the limited amount of people willing to coach, they want to give them a chance to control their behavior.
