http://www.driver-coaching.com - Some great onboard footage from the MX5 / Miata of Fahad Hizam in Meezer Racing Car #43 racing in Race 2 of the Ma5da MX5 Championship.

Even the diminuative Mk1 MX5s reach speeds of over 100mph on the banked oval and with 2 slow hairpins and very tight chicane the racing action is frantic with lots of spins, slides, crashes and bangs. Thankfully Fahad survives to finish a creditable 17th (out of 30) on this very difficult circuit which he had not driven until this weekend.

Video is captured on a 4-Cam Video4 setup from Race-Technology, supplied, fitted and operated by www.driver-coaching.com. I use this system extensively in my driver coaching where we are able to compare data & video down to minute detail to help the driver improve at a faster rate.

Why not subscribe to my channel for the very best onboard videos on Youtube, over 190 videos already uploaded and new ones posted every week, from race series' and trackdays all over the world. http://www.youtube.com/maxxuk

  • far be it for me to critique the driver, but braking seems to be mostly a two attempt affair. there's an initial brake and as he eases off he reapplies the brake almost as if he doesn't trust his initial braking judgement. This must unsettle the car on turn in? Does he complain about turn in oversteer at all?

  • @billyboy205gti - thanks for viewing and thanks for your comments. I havent managed to review the video yet i'm afraid, the race was yesterday and, as I had to do the edits for TV I did these also as I go on holiday tomorrow.

Fahad (the driver) hates me doing the footcam as this shows up things like this :) I think he may have been tentative in a numbe rof braking zones as he had not driven this layout until this weekend.

  • Great footage as always Fahad, easy for people to critisise let them put there money where there mouth is an go and do it, we all do track days but this is something different in the heat of competition

  • @MaxxUK No Probs. Its a really interesting system, I used to help me learn Cadwell, and also the Silverstone GP. When you get back from your hols send an email to me on here, outlining the costs to hire it for my racing. I think I'd find it very useful.
