Topic: Social Media and Business Communications

Part 2 - Social Media is about the essence of what you communicate, rather than the tools.

The commonly used term 'Social Media' in the modern business communications consist of both the tools of communication on social media and the essence of such communication.

The various web based tools like website, blogs, social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr are all tools of social media communication. The essence of the communication lies in being open, social and friendly. When you lose your position of being someone powerful and become part of your audience, be equal to them as one of them, that's when you are doing social communication.

Its a digital extension of the traditional word of mouth communication that we did sitting under the banyan tree, "arre pata hai kya hua"
