  • There`s Jimi, and there`s Johnny and then there`s all the rest!

  • I was a young teenager the year this was recorded, and I discovered Johnny the year prior. Made a fake ID and snuck into the clubs to see him. I would run up to the front of the stage, and stare at his fingers while he played. It blew my mind. In my opinion, he is the greatest blues guitarist ever to have been.

  • Where is part 2?

  • Man oh man Johnny!!!

  • He also played at Jimi Hendrix' wake with Jimi's band members while we are talking legends

  • I swear you just told my story to to the tee. 1986 I was 18 and had seen Johnny 3 times and had the pleasure of sitting down with him on his bus in Norfuck VA at the boat house and he was such a humble dude. and .just kool as you could imagine. Thanks Johnny for the blues in rthe raw.

  • Johnny Winter....

the ONLY Texas Blues Guitarist to play ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

    Woodstock

    The Fillmore East

    The Fillmore West

    Madison Square Garden

Put that in your "blues guitar legends" pipe and smoke it....

  • @dubidubidubdubdub might want to add Stevie Ray to that group!!!!

  • I've been a fan since 1969. Saw him live twice in the 1970s. I don't listen to the stuff from the late 1990s on, its too sad for me. I prefer to remember him the way he was. Still love the guy, I listened to him more than anyone over 20 years through thick and thin and still watch the older Youtube stuff. He was a class by himself. You wont see many people imitating him - because they can't

  • What type of guitar is Mr. Winter playing in the photo? Is that what he's really playing on the audio?
