Toby Wright, original Yankee Stadium organist from 1965 to 1966 and then from 1971 to 1977, was a wonderful performer and deserves far greater recognition as one of the best baseball stadium organists of all time. This audio clip with still photos, recorded in person by archivist Joey Cooperman during a pre-game rain delay on 5/11/1976, is very entertaining. Hear the ambiance of the newly refurbished Yankee Stadium during this rainy Tuesday night. Toby's finest moments were the late innings in 1972 when he played "Pomp and Circumstance" upon reliever Sparky Lyle's dramatic arrival in a tight game. Enjoy this clip along with a handful of other organist Toby Wright moments at the old Yankee Stadium presented by YanksAtShea.
