the height can't be bigger than the median. but height is 6 and median is 1/2 of 10. nice one, serguey. put some more stuff on. if you need money, hell, I'll pay :D

@VertNinja why not 30???? In ANY triangle the area is base multiplied by the perpendicular height divided by two. The base is the hypotenuse, equals ten and the height equals to six 6*10/2=6*5=3*10=30.

I know how to do it, I just can't be arsed to go get my formula-book.

metres squared
-
i got it to be 79.61114218
not to be nitpicky

the answer is 30 if you take the height and the width of the whole thing you get 60. make that 60 the area of a rectangle. if the base is that entire bottom 10 feet and the top of the triangle reaches up to the top 6 feet any triangle inside would equal the area remaining in the square. so it is just base X height X .5

lol oops, it says so in the answer, and i thought that i found something wrong with the video.
This triangle is impossible.
although you have worked out the math of it, by using length and height. the top angle ( which has a 90degree perpendicular sign) can never be achieved.
Say that the side 10 is the diameter of a circle, now, you can create a right angled triangle within that circle ( 10 being the hypotenuse) but its maximum prerpendicular height must not exceed 5 ( half of the diameter.) basic geometry, very useful.

The solution is impossible. Try to draw a triangle with a ten cm hypotenuse and 6 cm height. You surely can't.
Draw a rectangle ABCD with AB=CD=L=10cm AD=BC=l=6cm then try to draw on CD a point N so that ABN would be a right triangle. You can't.
Sorry for my bad english
