@djfuzzems I open carry in Newport News EVERYWHERE 100% of the time. The more that do the more exceptable it becomes. People are shocked at the sight of a gun because they aren't used to seeing them, Lets change that.

When just asked without any suspension of crime or intent I know some states you don't need to but is the Commonwealth as friendly to gun owners? Thank you for your time

@hicama10 I live in va as well and I only open carry around my families farm. I'm not so inclined to oc in public due to hassle but I'm getting a ccp soon but am curious to know can I oc on my hip driving down the road loaded? Its for the most part out of site to any officer unless I get out or he would to approach from passenger side??? I've looked and looked for any statue stating this and come up empty any help would be appreciated. Also if your inclined to answer do I need to provide ID ....

sound was removed for some reason, point is you can open carry in state parks now rifle shotgun pistol but the gun must not have more than 20 rounds or 7 rounds shotgun for magazine unless you have a concealed handgun permit. you can open carry in a national park or a state park now. You have to wait till sometime in april for the designated forest area in virginia to allow carrying of firearms openly concealed. You can conceal carry at george mason walkways not buildings or events. more later
