at the beginning, i thought i disliked the interviewer as well, but then i realized, that this "no pressure to make a joke"-atmosphere, that makes this interviews so special compared to all those late night shows, really shows us a different david. sure, he has this intelligent sense of humor, but in an interview like that where we see his serious side.. i enjoy that too
I was being a bit mean before. He does ask David some unique questions which might have been something fresh for David. This man feeds David's ego enough to keep him interested. I don't get these people. I think David did so well in this episode because he knew what it is like to be a geek. One of the best and David knew it. I bet the crew laughed a lot. He has to have an audience. I think he plays to them. There aren't millions in front of him. Just that crew who egged him on. It was fun.
This interviewer creaps me out. It's like he's trying to be so classy and David is trying to follow him in his mannerisims. He asks David such simple, silly questions and David jumps at the chance to answer him. David has always been his own man but not here. Here it's like an pretend academic king is allowing a serf to talk to him. Yuck.
