  • Very cool tutorial. Thanks

  • @TRaddcliff Great, it's their responsibility, not yours.

  • @yoda2031 oh okay. well i got an email from MOTU saying thier legal department is looking at this.

and will determine if there is any infringement on the trademark MOTU.

  • @TRaddcliff a) it's not my vid, b) it doesn't matter how they feel about it, it's not copyright infringement; that said, they probably don't care about a 27,000 view vid on youtube using the same acronym to describe something completely different. So go ahead, forward the video, I'd actually like to see a proper corporate response to the video rather than some wannabe copyright lawyer making accusations based on his/her complete misunderstanding of the law.

  • @yoda2031 ill just forward your vid to MOTU and see how they feel about it.

  • @TRaddcliff copyright infringement only applies when the infringer is branding the same kind of product as the infringed. EG, if I was a bakery and I called myself "Fubar Bakery" and some other baker came along and called himself "Fubar Bakery" that would be grounds for infringement. If a butcher came along and called himself "Fubar Butcher", although we both work with food, as long as he doesn't imply any association, he should be in the clear.

  • @jogshy

I think you don't know much about software development if you don't know that most developers prefer working from the command line for "glue" operations.

  • For the love of God, get rid of the command line in linux.

If you want developers to port their apps then you must do all VISUALLY.

Please, create a simple program like Giftwrap or Ubucompilator to create a .deb package. As simple as that.

  • is this name copyright infringement?

MOTU = Mark of the Unicorn audio interfaces.....

  • Hmmm?
