Alice Cooper and Tom Morello interview (A Head Bangers Journey)

An interview from A Headbangers Journey. Its quite interesting how Alice talks about how there are no political themes in his music, yet Rage Against the Machine guitarist Morello talks about how infamous Alice Cooper hits influenced his music, and behaviour in a political manner. I guess music, including lyrics, really is down to individual interpretation.

What is he talking about?? Eighteen isn't political neither is School's Out. Alice clearly states in interviews that School's Out is a celebration..Not a political song...

Cooper wrote the song, obviously, and intended for it to be based around lyrical rebellion. As songwriter he can claim it to be based on that topic...

HOWEVER

Due to lyrics being interpretated by different people in ways, Morello, being the socialist that he is, probably saw the lyrics to be more about rejecting authority and standing up, and being different.

Tom Morello makes Alice Cooper sound like a complete idiot... It doesn't matter what he intended the song to mean, people are going to interpret music in a way that is unique to their experiences and knowledge.
