  • @MrOphachew . Al Franken had to leave Air America Radio in order to run for the Senate as per FEC rules. Al would not have been able to simultaneously work as a radio commentator and as a candidate running for high office. He would have had an unequal advantage over Norm Coleman if this rule did not exist. AAR's loss was Minnesota's gain. I hope that answers ur question.
