"The problem with Blu-Ray is the fact that it is easy to scratch up compared to HD-DVD."
Ok, I just have to respond to this lie. Blu-ray is NOT easier to scratch than HD-DVD. In fact, it is the complete opposite. All Blu-rays have a scratch resistant coating on them that protects the disks.
I don't know if this was deliberate on your part or not but this kind of talk has to stop.

Yeah, the PS3 is the best blu ray player out, not just for the value but overall. For instance, Pioneer has two players that retail for $1000 and they still can't do everything the PS3 can. Pioneer's cheapest player is $600 and it's a "low-end" player while the PS3 is $400 and it does everything the top of the line players can and then some.

hd is kinda like beta. i dont know why there isnt room for 2 competing formats. its better for us,the consumers. it does really suck in a way. just like microsoft cornering the market or blu ray. i have heard the ps3 has a good blu ray player in it,so good luck dude.
bad thing about hd dvd you won't find alot of good movies on hd dvd. cause most movie companies is with blu-ray.

I know, HD-DVD is more cost friendly though.

I don't even like BLU RAY but if you have to have it, just get a ps3. It does way more and it costs a lot less.

The problem with Blu-Ray is the fact that it is easy to scratch up compared to HD-DVD. In blu-ray the recording layer is so close to the surface of the disk that a few scratches can leave the disk skipping when you play it. Fortunately TDK came out with Durabis but it is only utilized on BD-R/RE disks.
