Song and slideshow of pictures lifted mostly from www.tomjans.com please check out the website. It is a fine tribute by a true fan who I hope will forgive me for my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me.
My father was a close friend of Tom's dad and I have great memories of Tom at 4th of July gatherings at his family home in the 60s. He became my hero and inspiration when he started touring with Mimi. What a tragic end for him. So sad for his parent that he was the only child.
I was a songwriter in Nashville from 1993-1998 and i heard Tom on the radio in the 70's when the DJ's would play what they wanted and got into Tom. I must have a lot because I was writing with Troy Seals one day and he said boy do you remind me of someone and I said who and he said Tom Jans.
very cool davy. i had the pleasure of meeting tom back in the mid-seventies at a columbia records convention in l.a. and play some gigs with jerry swallow in the riverside, ca. area
oh the cool stories he shared of the immortial mister jans back then!
i ran across some industry ads and reviews im going to forward to the fan site. you all know sony japan just rereleased his 2 columbia releases right? jerry gave me a cassette of "champion". im sure its long gone tho. lets start a tom jans resurgence....theres got to be unreleased gems and video footage out there

I played him endlessly in the 70s and was devastated when he died. Great to hear him again -- he should not be forgotten. Thanks for the video!
