I was lucky to be able to ask Sundar Pichai, Google Vice President of Product Management 3 questions during the Google Cloud Computing Q&A session at the Computex 2010 consumer electronics conference in Taipei Taiwan:

1. Chrome browser as just an app in Android Smartbooks? (this video)
2. Google Marketplace on Tablets? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2cX93bpO-U
3. Native Code to support video and photo editing in Chrome?

  • @LoftyCuber It's been a huge work to fully hardware optimize it on ARM devices and they are just now releasing the beta of Chrome for Android.

  • @vimeocomuk It is about to become the default browser now..

  • chrome should be androids default browser.

you can get it on google tv which is android based.

  • Why is Chrome browser not a good way to go on Android. Chrome is the fastest x86 browser, why would it not work on ARM as well? Especially something powered by a Tegra2 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon. Once again I agree with you. Why Chrome OS when you can have Android with Chrome browser as an app? It would make the device more functional and fun.
