The mad professor SHOD versus the BJF Honeybee overdrive pedal. both are sorta low gain drive pedals...I used a Les Paul Historic 59, and a Dr Z MAZ 18 , 2x10 combo amplifier for the shoot out. I kinda dug the MP pedal, for what I like....both were very cool though, on a clean setting...

  • "Because reverb sucks". Actually, I think that is the only thing I hate about GMD's gear demos, to flat, dry and dead sounding. He needs reverb something fierce. Not tons of surf reverb, just enough to sound like he's in a room, not a box! Gear Mann Dude, get over your reverb phobia, it's killin' your tone on every gear demo you have!

  • "We're going to keep the reverb off, why? 'Cuz reverb sucks"

Haha I gotta love you GMD.

  • I can't decide between the sweet honey and the wampler ecstasy! what would you recomend for blues and indie inspired punk-rock leads

  • @yjmsrv no, If you play live, Reverb do suck some times. Use the natural sounding.

  • Mad Professor. Way better mid range response.

  • Mad prof !

  • @rexasul amen...i guess some people don't understand the POINT of these demos

  • @yjmsrv yes! great idea...b/c everyone uses the same reverb and we'd definitely know what the pedal sounds like if reverb was on...i get what you're saying, but thats the point of a demo to hear that pedal and ONLY that pedal...i don't want 23 other effects running while i'm trying to hear this pedal...thats why people like GMD, Andy @ PGS, and burgermann are so popular...b/c they know how to do these demos right

  • also you should compare crybaby classic and hendrix CB

  • i just recieved my sweet honey today and it's exactly what i wanted for a low gain pedal that doesn't sound all shity when you play complex chords.. great for the funky type shit.

  • i'd like to see a vid were gearmandude tells us his top 10 pedals out of all the thousands he's played.
