yep, thats common for a deskstar........ they always like to fail on their owners.. that particular model was known for failures left and right.. glass platters on that too. if u hit them hard enough they will shatter...the 60 and 75GXP were dropping like flies, only meant to have low power on hours.. not one of ibm's more bright ideas.. i like WDC myself, never had one fail.
