With Ryu Seung Min barely staying in the top 20, and the world switching to shakehand and whatnot, I figured it's about time we looked back at J-Pen and the golden age of table tennis. Thanks to all the uploaders out there; you're the best. That's you, countenance, crawsaive, virus, master, ttdaily and the rest. i'll add you in later.

  • How many Japanese National Team players are using JPen? The answer is zero. (Yes, there is a Chinese import with CPen)

Which teams are still using JPen? The answer is North and South Korea, plus Taiwan.

Let's start calling KPen or TPen for Keorean and Taiwanese pen holders.

  • @ironcheftw true that indeed. kPen!

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • @strader333 get down by jack beats

  • don´t give up j-pen, go forward... :-)

  • @ytchiening well, i mean, j-pen is so hard to do, and so exploitable, it's hard to see j-pen making much of a comeback...

  • @tokiemami

But not a Jpen itself XD

  • @jsjw2

Bcoz Jpen is the hardest out of all.. I'm a Jpen Player.. I always have a disadvantage against Chinese Pengrip or Shakehand players bcoz all they do is stay near the middle bcoz their backhand and front are good. But we have to move around covering around 90% OF THE TABLE WITH FOREHAND

  • @qingian

True, I'm also a Jpen Player... and if you want to be good at it, you need really good control and footwork.. Yes its hard for a Jpen player to make comebacks as we only have one side of rubber therefore our backhand is not top notch either.. But if we attack first, then GG. Just like Ryu Seung Min. Therefore Footwork + Control + Jpen = GG

  • @ironcheftw Sad thing is, no young player ( around 20, or less ) in any of those places plays JPen any more...

  • @qingian but with enough determination you can make a change...

  • speed glue ban put the final nail in the coffin.

  • @tokiemami he uses only one side of c-Pen. not sure whether you can call that a J-pen

  • @ironcheftw kai yoshida jpen and japanese team member

  • @ironcheftw

    Yoshida Kaii?
