Start Up & rev of a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Don't you all love how this engine starts up? I think this is 1 of the best sounding cars I've ever started. A Super Charged 5.4L 32 Valve DOHC V8 making 540HP.. The Same engine powering the Ford GT40.

  • Well a couple things, I noticed the door chime is different and it is quite annoying lol, why is the car beeping at you when you rev it past 4k, at the end it looks silly when you shut it off and the tach slowly returns to 0. But you are right, I love how this car sounds, SVT really knows how to tune an exhaust. This sounds better than the new 5.0L, heck the 4.6L sounds better too. There is something weird sounding about that engine

Yeah that door chime sounds so weak & doesn't pair nice with such a car. Don't know y the SVT light keep coming on, probably cause thats where the Super Charger does it's best magic I guess. But there has to be something to deactivate that. I want to hear the engine & supercharger whine, not a fkn beep LOL.

Keep in mind them 5.0's do take serious RPMs right out of door. Taking 7000RPM's with ease. The older 4.6 would've been weezing after 6000.

  • The Shelby GT500s come factory with a Shift light and Shift tone. You can dissable it or set it to whatever RPM you wish it to flash. At night it is really helpful to know when to shift without looking at your gauge cluster. With 9-13 lbs of boost the RPMs go up seriously quick, so any alert on RPMs is helpful. You can turn off the Shift light chime and leave the shift light...you can turn the shift light off and leave the chime...or turn both off, its your choice.
