Afghanistan: Violence Free School

A recent study found that 60% of teachers of girls and 100% of all boys' school teachers surveyed use some level of violence against their pupils. This ranges from verbal abuse to rape. Save the Children is running a pilot scheme in several schools in Jalalabad and Mazar-i-Sharif, called "Violence Free School" which attempts to address these issues by introducing alternative forms of discipline, and an understanding of child rights.

very important issue is being raised by Save the children, it is not something new, I remember this when I was at school in 80s. the question is if this is a family culture that children should punished to be manageable or it is a method of teaching. I believe this should legislated by the central government that this should be illegal to punish children.
