I am not a spider man fan. I do not claim to be one. I enjoyed what i've seen of its work, but i don't follow it that much. However, as a fan of writing, I can safely say that Joe Quesada's actions in making One More Day were beyond insane. He immaturely hijacked the entire series to DESTROY a LOVE, made spidey a 30 year old basement dweller, and to top it off, he didn't even make it interesting. The plot was utterly contrived and absurd. Joe quesada has my infinite and unyielding disrespect.

Agreed, i have to admit some storylines of BND are good, but the overall premise is still bad, bad, bad.

Actually, it wasn't Joe who retconned it. It was the ASM writers, who are actually smart, unlike Joe Q. They too hate OMD.
*Sigh*....

They retconed the retcon?! Are you freakin' serious?! Joe Q must really think we are stupid, because "Oh no, that wasn't Mephisto, that was someone else who looks exactly like him who can do things like him...but it wasn't him."
This is yet another reason why I will not read ASM, because Joe Q thinks we are all idiots and tries to spin on every bit of OMD.

You make some excellent points and we agree 100% my friend.
I loved the JMS/Romita run on spidey. It was one of my fav books.
After OMD I stopped collecting spidey.
Why does marvel not want spidey to grow up? If they want to tell stories of a young PP then they have the ultimates line.
