Yeah, and I've read the book. I was just mentioning that in the film Van Helsing they named him Gabriel instead of Abraham, and wondered if the new team named their hero after him.

You know Van Helsing is a character from the orignal Dracula novel written in 1897, right? The original Castlevania and every incarnation of the Belmont family has been inspired by the Van Helsing character.

unless it is a spin off and not part of the main series, then no. Dracula was always the same person until he was forced to be reincarnated as Soma. Anyway I am more looking forward to the Alucard game that is supposed to be in the process of being made
