@horsemadf The snow was excellent spring snow but it you left your down runs to late afternoon the snow may have turned to heavy crud or, if the temperature is dropping, icy breakable crust. You have to be on the top of the Main Range no later than noon. This may mean your early morning climbing may be on icy surfaces which may require using short skins to speed up climbing and save your energy.
