Former NBA superstar Charles Barkley hosted Saturday Night Live on 1-7-12. After stating he has lost 38 pounds on Weight Watchers, he admitted that the popular low-fat diet keeps him "so hungry" and "starving" all the time. Gee, I wonder what the corporate bigwigs at WW thinks about this admission about their horrible low-fat, low-calorie diet plan?

Sir Charles should consider a healthy low-carb, high-fat nutritional approach instead: http://www.livinlavidalowcarb.com/blog

  • How did you get rid of the hunger on WW, GirlUnraveled?

  • It's SNL, it's a joke.

  • @ViperCC One of the things that makes comedy funny is an element of truth in the punchline. So I'm not surprised if CB is indeed "hungry" and "starving" on WW because everybody knows it's true.

  • @livinlowcarbman The element of truth here is the common perception that dieters are hungry. Charles might be hungry, but you can't take what people say as a joke as truth. In the description of this video, calling this an "admission" is a bit of a stretch. I know you're just spreading your message, but let's be honest about what the video really is.

  • @ViperCC This is true. But many diet plans do leave dieters hungry because they deprive their body of the satiating macronutrients like fat and protein while loading them up on the hunger-stoking macronutrients like carbohydrates. Sure, I'll admit CB is making a joke here, but the people in the audience laughed because they've tried to eat low-fat, low-calorie and have suffered through the inevitable hunger that happens.

  • Who can blame Mr. Barkley for being hungry? Though I have never been on Weight Watcher's myself (the whole thing seemed too gimmicky) I have seen numerous women at my workplace try it. And they get so frustrated, having to do their meticulous accounting of points on the Weight Watcher's system. They also get angry that I lose weight so effortlessly on my low carb system, which does not require me to have a CPA. If I wanted to do accounting I would be an accountant!

  • Better get on the low Carb band wagon. I never go hungry! Fats keep you satisfied!

  • WW worked great for me too But i too was starving! I have been phase one since july and i am down 73lbs and I do not feel hungry one bit ever.

  • I was exactly the same on weight watchers. I was very hungry, very irritable. The leaders had no answers for me. Low carb is the answer!

  • LCHF all the way Chuck!

  • perhaps its a joke but its probably true too if hes doing that crap... calorie restricting programs such as those are a bad way to lose weight... and hard to keep the weight off afterwards
