even tho it's takedown tactics, the music and the slow 'dance' of the fights is calming and serene lol. Paradox-like...

@Bluesiytangco But the most important principles belong to proper structure and the biomechanical method of chansijing (silk reeling energy). This method should be omnipresent throughout any application, sparring, and forms practice or there is no real understanding of Chen Style Taijiquan.

@kubotan26 In Chen Style Taijiquan there are many martial principles such as connecting (peng jing), bridging, yielding, intercepting, squeezing, redirecting, borrowing, sticking, listening, covering, plucking, splitting, etc. And there are numerous applications that span across and intersect all hand to hand combat elements such as Ti (kicking), Da (striking), Shuai (grappling, wrestling, throwing), and Na (seizing and controlling).

what are the main principles of the chen style? from what i have seen you evade or redirect or absorb there is also rotation to there whole body via the joints or you rotate. you take away support from the lower body by attacking the joints whilst redirecting the upper body at different angles to unbalance or visa versa . its very interesting
Hi master Blue, this is Makis again. I wanted

@makisp2 Sorry it took some time to reply to this, but I've been out of the country. As far as Weichao Liu is concerned, I don't have any personal experience with them. The best thing would be to attend some of their classes and decied for yourself. Good luck.

@Bluesiytangco Thank you for showing me a sample of chen! I am a Wudang teacher in the Uk and many get to see Chen forms but hardy any applications. It is nice to see the similarities to Wudang alongside some differences too!

@TheZhongzheng In the end, core principles remain true throughout ALL styles. We have much more in common than we do in difference.
