@Karalann U dont get it. what we have, yes is familiar to u, so u dont want to give it up. Fear of the unknown and all. ok...GET OVER IT. Cant live in the past with the future on the horizon. Coal natural gas and nuclear are no solutions to pollution. Youre thinking only of your self. U need to think of the environment and its future. It's your children's children who'll have to live with your decisions. U guys got alot of SUN down there...Hmmmmnnn...

@SunStance How about we FIX WHAT WE HAVE BEFORE WE SPEND MORE MONEY on something else that won't work.......You need wind to make them turn sweetie and we don't have alot of that here compared to up north.Thats the problem. So in the mean time I'll keep using my coal energy for electricity cause I DON'T PAY OUT MY ASS FOR IT...like my friends who are on nuclear power here or natural gas....who do pay out there ass for electricity...

@SunStance im so tired of U people trying to tell Louisiana people to loose all what we have here..Have U liked our oil keeping your ass warm all these years..You betcha....Take your wind tubines and shove it.. By the way U people can make your GEOTHERMAL energy farms and put that in your back yard and tell your companies up north not to throw there pollutions in the water that ends up down the mississippi river into our back yards FIRST!
-
@Karalann Forget the pump- go electric. Wipe away some of the pollution that crap creates and folks will be healthier, kids will grow up sharper then maybe we'll be able to compete with china and korea academically. I know youre scared of change but it must happen. Change must happen.

Im so tired of listening to u people talk about all the jobs lost and the louisiana economy. u wanta help the LA economy take some of that big oil money u already have and build some WIND TURBINES and hire residents to maintain em. Start making GEOTHERMAL energy farms. Its 2010 IT'S THE FUTURE PEOPLE. now is the time to move away from oil and the pollution & environmental catastrophes it creates & animals they kill. Time to stop talking about energy solutions and start implementing them.

Oyster population decimated by oil, Thank you John McCain and Sarah Palin for destroying america our whole livelihood along Louisiana... You RepubliCONs supported offshore drilling, now look at what we have left nothing... Every RepubliCONs should be kicked out of office permanently, they don't serve for the people, and by the people, they ONLY serve big companies...

in florida we said no to any drilling off our coast and our constitution being amended to block them forever .we are supporting ethanol solar and wind technology..no one thing is going to displace oil .. .we dont lose what we have now just because we stop drilling oil.. its a false argument !im talking about using new technology to get us off our oil economy and get to something sustainable and clean that wont ruin our country in the process..

@btgoss If you are going to complain about the big evil oil corps quit being a hypocrite and stop using the byproducts of oil.
AFA Jindal goes, no he isn't pandering to the oil industry based on corp. interests. BP had 760 violations. Exxon had 1. Not all oil companies are as notoriously bad at their safety records. BP is the problem, not the entire industry.
It's obvious that you don't have a clue to how the economy works & the duties of the governor regarding this issue.

Jindal is using the victims of the oil spill to lift the oil drilling ban? uh wut

@Karalann Ok.... so how would they stop the oil leak in 500 ft of water?
I still reject the statement that it is "our own government MADE them drill that far out. So why are there so many close to shore? They drill out there because it is there. The "drill baby drill" crowd, was pushing to off shore drill as well.
Let me get this straight. In one breath you are saying "it's the government's fault" and the next you are saying "government LET US OFF SHORE DRILL NOW!"
Could it be Obama isn't doing anything for political reasons? The Dutch offered mega machinery just days after the rig explosion. The US Coast Guard HAS YET to hear from the Obama administration to their offers of resources, made weeks ago.
Obama is quoted saying that the federal government has been in control of this crisis from the beginning. Really.
Is Obama letting this crisis go all to hell so he can push through cap and trade?
