  • help me understand the pushing part, tom says to push and not cock the hand back too much... i still get crazy rotation, more than my normal shot which is a flipping action, how much rotation do u get? i know im pushing the ball but i have the instinct to roll it off my fingers rather than just pushing it off... any tips?

  • @fredo018

You can tell if you are pushing the ball if your wrist and hand are relaxed, and your elbow is completely locked after releasing the ball. Rotation and the like don't matter. What matters is finding an accurate and predictable way to control ball flight, fredo018! Also, vary the arc to control distance, and align the ball with the shooting eye plane helps. The release should feel completely the same for every shot you take after because the legs will power the rest.

  • Hey can you please explain how you alignment the ball? I watched the swish videos but still dont get it. Can you explain in detail?

  • @dannywuyue

So assuming you are right handed, you'll be aiming with your right eye just like when throwing darts to create a referance for your body. Your hand should pass roughly through that eye to ensure proper alignment.

  • what is the arch?

  • @angelochrisso

Arch or shooting arch is the curving flight of the ball. If you want more info about this kind of shooting, watch my other videos and take a look at Tom Nordland's website (google it).

  • @Noobykins

    No problem. Congrats man!

  • This video has helped me so much,

I can finally hit 3's and not just mid range jumpers,

when I used to shoot 3's I just tried to increase my arch and use more leg drive, but this was the answer,

I think they should add this to the swish video's cause I didnt understand this concept at first,

    thanks guys

  • @MaRsMcMoe

Usually, these kinds of shots are more difficult. First, there is a dip in leg drive you can shoot from. Secondly, alignment is usually not great because you are moving. If you have any other variables (ie: Use your fingers to power your shot), this makes this kind of shooting even more difficult. If you attempt some or all of the different shooting techniques that I or Tom Nordland have been teaching, shooting off the dribble, step back shots, etc will become easier.
