Two cosmonauts and an American space tourist launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on April 7 on-board Soyuz TMA-10. Oleg Kotov and Fyodor Yurchikhin, joined by Charles Simonyi will dock with the International Space Station on April 9, where Yurchikhin will take over command from U.S. astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria. Kotov will replace cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin as flight engineer while serving alongside Sunita Williams to comprise the Expedition 15 crew. Simonyi, a former Microsoft executive, will stay on the ISS for 10 days before returning to Earth with Tyurin and Lopez-Alegria aboard Soyuz TMA-9, landing April 20.

  • Propaganda? Where? What's wrong with you buddy? I know that American person can not stand any foreign superiority in anything. Propaganda is on your Military channel. That's where the real propaganda is. It is 2007 now but they still show Cold War movies there. And you call my comment propaganda?

  • im with you mikesomov,i have been a space and rocket enthusiast for about 10 yesr and the soyuz is the most reliable in the world, over 1700 flight and only a hand full of failures, the reason why they use russian rockets is because they are scared shitless of the shuttle!

  • Reading the comments it seems people like to discuss US/Russia space travel, fact is the US program is 20-25 years more technologically advanced, and the Russians have the sturdier rocket design as, well Russia isn't i high-tech nation, but ruggedness in this case is working fine, it's cheap, and reliable. US, and the rest of the world should work with Russia to mass-produce as that would bring the cost down by a high factor, and Soyuz is simple enough to be robot-assembled...

  • @heathirving wait a second...are you REALLY trying to get into a pissing war over which country had more success in space travel? And you are choosing the Russian's side? How'd that moon landing go for you?

What a joke. After the initial success the Soviet Union had (only because they were willing to risk the cosmonaut's safety) it hasn't even been a contest.

  • @moos209

There is more than 1 billionaire at Microsoft.

I believe this guy was one of the founders with Gates.

  • WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with this title??? this has nothing to do with bill gates... AHHHHAHAJKSHKJSHFKLDEHF W

  • and the cat needs a mouse.

imagine, tom and jerry in ISS.

  • They need a real space cat. A resident ISS cat. Charles Simonyi, the first nerd in space. EPIC WIN.

  • Go space cat! :)

  • Watch the black cat teddy hanging for the clear effects of zero gravity as they climb into space!

  • Not only is the Soyuz system very reliable, NASA has spoken a few times about the possibility of using a very similar system after the space shuttle is retired.
