  • the one and only Clara Ward.... Is it true she had a long-lasting relationship with C.L. Franklin and even stayed in his home at some point?

  • THey did have a relationship, but the whole part about "staying in the home" doesn't mean that she moved in at one point. She was a frequent visitor, and as many people know, she was a big influence on Aretha Franklin.

  • It's none of our business what went on between them...And thats that

  • AMEN!!

  • LOL...I'm glad someone agrees with me on that. But you know that's the truth. That is none of our business. Aretha even said in her book that she never knew what was goin on and that it was none of her business. Now we know if Aretha doesn't even know then she sure as heck shouldn't be worried about it.

People spend to much time worryin bout other people business while they mess is toe' up from the flo' up.

  • Keep on standing there Finding faults Keep lookin at everybody else, Carrying a bad thought You're gon' miss your chance to save your soul Keep standing there, Gazing into space Keep on gossipping, Walking from place to place You're gon' miss your chance to save your soul Maybe you've heard this Clara Ward song before. Anyway, I do agree with what you said. Sho'nuff. LOL!

  • as one the mothers in my church would say YEAH LAWD

  • Fantastic!

  • yes lord love this song

  • Her young voice was as sharp and neat as a surgeon's scalpel. I love these stripped down solo recordings of hers as they demonstrate that gift perfectly.

  • @Kbonie I clicked on Clara Ward this morning because my cousin and I were talking about Aretha's health. Discovered that my cousin used to be publicist/gofer for Rev. C. L. Franklin. Yes, Ward went with Rev. Franklin for years. Whether she stayed in his home, I don't know. She told me Aretha's siblings and mother all died of cancer. Aretha and siblings were raised by her grandmother who Rev. Franklin brought up from Miss.

  • Great!

  • Oh Yess!

  • there are not enough ppl singing music like this in the world anymore.

  • yes Ahem I do however the sicken twist is that she committed incest her sister mentioned that it was a result of being abused by a jealous family member

  • Yes honey, i have many faults, and you are right, It is for GOD to judge, but its for me to talk about what i know! and i haven't told one LIE!
