There's another video on youtube of a sea lion doing the same. Again, it makes me wonder if it was hiding from something he saw underwater. Any Orcas in that area?

Thanks for your kind comment. It was an experience we will never forget. The friends we went kayaking with didn't believe us until I told them to check out this Youtube clip.

That's me in the front and my husband in the back. We rented our kayak on Granville Island and shot this clip in English Bay, Vancouver, Canada.

The seal was very comfortable with us. It even swam next to our kayak for a good ten minutes afterwards.
