... strictly anti-Islamic. You will find that the number of protestors on the streets has diminished greatly from June. In fact, this video here shows the riots of 27 December. On the 30th, 3 days later, millions of people all around Iran condemned these riots on a religious day. They expressed support for the Leader (Khamenei) and the establishment. Some of the millions in support had voted for Mousavi too.

There is a difference between one who originally voted for Mousavi, and the rioteers.

... they prefer. As for Mousavi and Ayt. Montazeri, they are being used by certain disruptive elements to further their own gains. It is a known slogan among the anti-establishment movement: "Mousavi bahane ast, asl-e nezam neshane ast"

This means: Mousavi is an excuse, the very establishment is our target.

The nature of the opposition these days (not to be confused at all with the many people who honestly doubted the elections and came to the streets late June) is strictly anti-Islamic...

..."death to a republic" ... a lot of them, when they prayed in Fiday Prayers led by Rafsanjani, did not know the basic etiquette of prayer. Pictures show men and women praying with shoes (which invalidates prayer), or women with incorrect hijab (also invalidates). This method of prayer is crucial, as prayer is the "pillar of religion" in Islam. So, if they want "real Islam", this shows how little they know about real Islam. Or perhaps they just want pick and choose the bits of Islam they prefer

... by ordinary supporters of the movement, some are actively hostile towards Islam, either viewing it as an Arab (ie. foreign) religion or restrictive, backward philosophy. Many are liberals who simply want a Western-style liberal democracy. Some are monarchists who want a return (!) to the king. Some are communists who have the utopian ideas of Marx, Lenin and Mao.

Some write: Death to Islamic Republic - which could only target the Islamic Nature, since nobody says "death to a republic"...

Ayt. Montazeri could not have been 'leading' the opposition as he never claimed 'leadership' himself. He was a friend (and still loyal to) Ayt. Khomeini, and a revolutionary, co-founding the "Islamic" Republic. He may have disagreed with the establishment on many things, but secularisation would be a departure from what he stood for only 30 years back.

The movement has issued several 'secular' slogans:

While in 1979, the slogan was: "Independence, Freedom, Islamic Republic", they changed it to: "Independence, Freedom, Iranian Republic" - so they took out the "Islamic" nature of the system - so secular.

The movement has also ripped the picture of Ayt. Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic. They cheered on a religious mourning day. (Ashura) They protested against the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist who makes sure ...

Do you mean the Green Movement are hypocrites? They claim to want secularism and/or 'real Islam' and they call on the clerics for backing? BBC said that here in Britain people would find it puzzling that the green movement needs a ' religious leader' (interview with Kadivar). Conclusion West believes that green movement is secular? or perhaps not since they also claimed that Ayt. Montazeri was THE leader of THE oppostion? Is there only one opposition? And what is the nature THE opposition?

I thought Mousavi claims to be a Muslim and wants 'real Islam'. So it is confusing when all these 'Green Movement' people are saying Islam and Muslims are bad. Was not the Western media saying that Ayt. Montezari was 'the opposition' leader? Even Mr Kadivar in US said that Green Movement in Iran needed Muslim spiritual leader because majority Muslims respect Islam?
