Stomp and Chomp - Hippos

Our two Nile Hippos give you a glimpse of the Stomp and Chomp; our main event at Boo at the Zoo. Come visit the San Francisco Zoo on Saturday, October 28th to see many more animals stomp and chomp their way through pumpkins.

At least one of these two is obese and for the ignorant reading this and thinking 'all hippos are fat' - NO they are bulky animals but one of these two is carrying too much fat deposits. The legs are partially enclosed in fat, just like a fat human and only the lower parts are visible, this is neglect...

Sweet! I saw a Nile Hippo similar to this @ the zoo @ Washington, DC. This was THE main attraction for me. They had a couple of pygmy hippos that are less than half the size of the Nile hippos then one huge Nile hippo. It was awesome. I snapped a couple of pics of its wide mouth and funny teeth during feeding time. Definently worth seeing.

Hippo fact: Nile hippos can breathe underwater up to 6 minutes!
