Drug Enforcement Agencies, All branches of the judicial system, law enforcement, prison and jail systems, treatment and detox facilities, drug therapists, therapists of the children of drug users, k9 units, whatever that got a job due to illegal drug use or manufacturing or delivering ought to designate a holiday to drug law breakers for providing them with Job Security.What would they do without illegal drug activies? Starve? Or keep the ball going?This country would fall if it all stopped. Hmm

Thanks luptilu7- there is a ton of money going into trying to punish people for using recreational drugs. If ever we get to vote directly on the laws- a majority would probably at least lower the sentences to a couple of days until people are sober and get another chance at sobriety. - The same for prost - which I think is not enforced against wealthy insiders anyway- but let's make it for poor people too.

i believe that we shouldent have crack fiends robbing our houses so they can get there fix, but i support marijuana legalization.

@cbradley1391 thanks: yeah clearly we need to focus on stopping all violent crimes, theft, and trespassing. I think the myths about crack addiction are overblown - it's like any addiction probably - some people will rob for food, alcohol, coke, money - people rob and do violence for a variety of reasons, and I think we need to focus on stopping the violence and theft, and in terms of drug use if they are jailed - let it only be for under a week until their sober and clean and get another chance.

Drug addiction is not a legal issue it is a medical issue which should be dealt with by physicians instead of cops, judges and prison guards.

I should be able to put anything in my body as long as I am not a danger to myself or anyone else. Stay out of my life government!

yeah, I agree, owning and using marijuana should not be even a fine. For whatever reason, 72% of people in the USA think that it should be a fine- the important point is that the vast majority are against jailing people for marijuana.

Many people do, and weed should be decriminalized - in particular because the majority vote in the USA supports marijuana only being a fine.
