Great vid, thanks for posting. How many working hours did it take?

Thanks! In a nutshell I had two crappy bikes one of wich was already in pieces because I had parted most of it out on ebay. So I tore this one completely down and painted it and chased all the threads in the frame. Its got mostly all new fasteners and all the best parts from both bikes. The engine is from the parted out bike. I also put in a brand new wireing harness. The best thing I did was mod the headlight so it turns with the handlebars and forks. Will post a video on that mod soon!

awesome....
you should list everything you fixed/changed, or how you did it all! cause that was amazing!

and hey, not trying to call you stupid or anything but it looks like you ended up spraying some of the red paint on your car's primer in the front/engine bay.

@PFCwhiteUSArmy Thanks. It was definitely a fun project. Made me love the bike so much more. Its been three years of trouble free riding since I did it too! That car is in the junk yard now. It wasnt in primer that was the colour of its paint. I was almost finished stripping it for parts when I realized I had to do the bike project to be ready to ride that spring.

awesome video!
How long did it take to take it apart and put it back together?
dOGHAIRdavey 3 years ago
dOGHAIRdavey it took me from early February untill the very beginning of April. I wanted to get the frame powder coated and everything but I didnt have the time and not much money either. This bike was put back together with the best parts between two KLRs that I had and fasteners from the car in the background haha.

Okay looks like I can post comments again. For awhile I couldnt and tried a bunch of times to respond to freak000111s question about the doohicky. As for the doohicky I think the stock one does its job well enough and it breaks because if you loosen the adjusting lock nut as much as the manual tells you too it slides away from where it sits. Then when you tighten it instead of sliding back it kicks on an angle and gets stuck. Then you keep tightening it untill it seats and bend it at the weld.
