http://www.ted.com Biologist Richard Dawkins launches into a full-on appeal for atheists to make public their beliefs and to aggressively fight the incursion of religion into politics and education. Dawkins' scornful tone drew strongly mixed reactions from the audience; some stood and applauded his courage. Others wondered whether his strident approach could do more harm than good. Dawkins went on to publish The God Delusion and become perhaps the world's best-known atheist.

If they published and featured THIS, why did TED recently decide to censor / not publish a talk about income inequality in the USA?
Yeah, that talk is biased against republicans, AS IS REALITY AND SO ARE THE FACTS. And TED just banned it, wont feature or publish it. Its not okay that TED censors a talk about income inequality just based on perceived bias against republicans. Maybe 4 years ago, when this got uploaded, things were different and since then TED lost its principles.

It is not an attempt to avoid addressing the point, just an attempt to annoy you... faggot. No, that is not the language my faith teaches me, language isn't taught at all in my faith, we learn that from our parents and also school... are you a retard or something?

Bringing to attention insignificant errors, such as typos, is, very blatantly, a desperate attempt to avoid addressing the point.
The literacy or intelligence of the one making a point is irrelevant.
The POINT is relevant.
Unless, of course, you can't actually figure out what the sentence is supposed to say.... in which case, forget it.

I would say most scientists are not banging down church doors, but I think Dawkins is pretty aggressive in his opinions against religion (I would say his intentions are good though at least. He seeks to end all the bad things associated with religion through just completely eliminating it.).
I'll be glad to deliberate, but do you mind if I may have to send you a personal message, I'm getting close to the character limit.

I see Dawkins as defending science first. Scientists are not banging down church doors yelling Hey, you got it all wrong.
Religion jumped into science promoting religious dogma propaganda like intellgent design. So i can see why scientists like Dawkins and Carl Sagan spoke out against religion when it started twisting and denying real scientific knowledge for what they think is their benefit?
And if you don't mind me asking, what is your reason for being deist?
Desdenova262 in reply to scottnsuzs (Show the comment) 1 day ago
I think the "intolerance" towards religion by Dawkins comes from the fact that this irrational belief in god spread by religions has taken over a huge part of society and therefore politics. This goes directly against all constitutions of the "western" world and has many negative effects on society so we must fight against it. People can believe what they want but don't let religion come anywhere near politics, science and education.

I understand and agree with the point you made. I really like hearing Mr. Dawkins talk about evolution, and I understand why he has issues with organized religion, but I think he tends to be a little too militant about it sometimes. I'm a deist, personally, but I never talk about my beliefs to anybody unless they ask (this case excluded).
