  • The plane is IR , not the captain ....This flight is at minima but it's a real VFR flight.

  • Bet the plane was clean and shiny after that.

  • Special VFR means, as I recall it, that you can fly in the pattern below minimums as long as you can see the ground (or something similar). You are however not allowed to perform cross country flights.

  • Was this by ground vis or flight vis... because I don't think you have 1 mile there. ;) (Maybe the regulations are different in France?)

  • @skysurfer0805 close to the ground visibility needs to be at least 1.5 km not 5... at least for this category of plane...

  • Hard to think of a better argument for the retention of the UK IMC rating (we get that sort of weather a lot!). Perhaps it needs to be made available throughout Europe as well. There is no way that was a VFR arrival.
