Paliya DeSantos (Sugar Pie DeSanto) - If I Had A Wishing Well (1957 Girl Group Sounds)

Born Umpeylia Balinton, later taking the nickname that legendary Johnny Otis called her, she is now 75 years old and is still a powerhouse performer.
She now has a deep, husky voice that suits her to a T as she sings of a life well-lived.

This was only her 3rd single release (and the only one under the name Paliya DeSantos). Previously she'd had 2 singles released on Federal in 1955, as simply Sugar Pie.

This release was on Jody 11, b/w "Darling Be Mine" as Paliya and Alvin. Alvin was Alvin Parham. I have no further info available (as to whether or not Sugar wrote or co-wrote either of those tracks).
