The english horn is niether english or a horn, discuss
-
@randomlolzzz It's called a French Horn because, at one point, there were no decent English (nationality) horn players. All the good horn players in England were from France. So the English started calling it a "french" horn. In other languages it's just called a "horn".

Any requirements for playing this instrument? What are the difficulties among this instrument? It sounds so beautiful :)
-
@randomlolzzz The English Horn was originally named the cor anglee` (bent horn in French), but it was miss-translated as cor anglais (english horn), by the English.
-
@randomlolzzz it is very complicated.

What a great english horn sound. It's so subtle yet moving. That's the kind of sound I strive for!
