I love the PWEI version. No offence Numan fans but it's way better than this. I came here looking for the original but can't seem to find it, search for 'Gary Numan friends' and the obvious song comes up a million times...

didn't gary base this on the version that pop will eat itself did of this song / an early version of pure? think i prefer this to the original tubeway army version, very 'grungey'

i still have this on VHS somewhere, i recorded that show, remember him sitting on those plastic chairs? i spent ages trying to find it back then as well reason being is it was called Do Your Best originally, or this is what i am led to believe as I have an mp3 of this song live in 1979 where he introduces it as "Do your Best"

This is the song "Pure" not Friends tho it is great many thanks for this one of the best ever Numan songs.

Sorry but if you listen to the lyrics it is Friends.This version later turned into Pure.

Thanks for putting me straight I got confused because on the hope bleeds dvd its a mix of this and the pure single.Love this tho thanks again .
