President Obama surprises eighth graders from Altona Middle School in Longmont, CO on the South Lawn of the White House. President Obama cited a letter from one of the student's mothers in his remarks after reaching a deal with Congressional leaders to prevent a government shutdown. April 11, 2011.

He took the time to come out and meet these kids and answer their questions, I agree this is a great man who is willing to meet the people!

I just got my ok for a tour of the White House in August.I'm excited to go. I'm ot a political person but it will be historic to visit during his term.

I'm one of those kids! Were from altona middle school and it was AMAZING to get to meet him. Whether I like him or not meeting a president who runs our country was a awesome expierience:) plus we got a tour of the entire white house which was sick!!!! Best trip of my life:)
