Iraq Veterans Against the War recently marched on the Senate offices to deliver stop loss orders requiring congress to continue working until the war is ended and the troops are returned home.

The government makes bad laws to benefit itself, because it can get away with it. It has a monopoly on "legitimate" initiation of force. It abuses that power because there are no effective checks and balances.

The constitution has either enabled or failed to prevent the US from becoming the largest most powerful government/empire the world has ever seen.

I understand that it is the law; however, as citizens of this country we must follow the law even if we do not agree with it. Remember, laws are made by legislature, which is comprised of men and women that we elected. Agree or disagree we must accept it.

The Boston Tea Party happened while we were still under British influence, and before we had formalized, codified law, so that is not a wise example.

Your recruiter might not have told you, or glossed over it, but its in there. Dishonest recruiters are another matter, but if you sign your name to a contract without reading every word...well, youre an idiot.
