Amstrad owners thought Amstrads were better, C64 owners thought C64s were better. Neither will admit the other was right (Generally, C64 was better I concede, although some Amstrad games were superior, dunno if it's down to the port or otherwise), so best to chill and not get so angry about something over 25 years old.
@iris030380 wow, i bet your friend had in fact a zx spectrum and you tought it was a c64.. it's all i can find to explain this..
Arround 90% of the games i saw on a c64 and on a cpc, the c64 won hands down.
I had both of them ! The cpc had better graphic modes, but the c64 had much better animation + sound. Scrolling on c64 was hardware, took really not much cpu time to do it, while the cpu from the cpc was really buzy doing it.. stop your fanboy atitude, you just need to compare on youtube
C64 and CPC games, like for like, the CPC wins every time. In terms of gameplay and colours and sound. I visited a friends house who had a C64 and played all the games I could find which I had back home on CPC. I was totally dissapointed. The amiga, now thats a different story. But you just wouldnt get games like psycho hopper on the C64. The renegade C64 was a joke as well. In fact, barring turrican, they ALL were.
obviously better scroll on c64 because of the custom chips, hardware scrolling and all that, unlike amstrad. But what is that about the lack of enemies on some c64 games like golden axe, they come one by one, wtf? or un squadron always with almost no enemy sprites on screen
kick, roll, head chop only combo you ever needed lol

@Notir072 Another way to look at it is;
Amstrad owners thought Amstrads were better, C64 owners thought C64s were better. Neither will admit the other was right (Generally, C64 was better I concede, although some Amstrad games were superior, dunno if it's down to the port or otherwise), so best to chill and not get so angry about something over 25 years old.

Oh yes.There was nothing more satisfying than taking my cousins head off.
And i'll bet you a pound to a pinch of shite that the unlucky recipient of a beheading always tossed the joystick in the air and swore like a trooper.
