Our angel fish were up to a little hanky-panky with the aquarium water heater, so our nephew David grabbed the camcorder and shot this footage.

I stripped out the audio, so you can add your own sound effects. :-)

  • I have watched my angel fish do this 3 times but they always eat the babies...

  • Most definitely.

They need to be separated from the parents or be in a habitat where they can hide.

  • It's possible the eggs are being eaten, but I'm not sure.

  • Here's the story behind this pair:

We had one angelfish amongst several other types - my wife decided to add a couple more angelfish. The original angelfish paired with one of the newer ones and started harassing the other fish. We had to move all the other fish to another tank to avoid stressing them. Shortly afterwards, this pair started spawning on a regular basis.

I moved to another state, and gave the pair to my sister. The pair still produces eggs/fry with no effort on her part.

  • they are spawning, the mating came BEFORE this, lmao

  • good point - thanks

  • i uploaded a video of mine doing the same thing, its amazing to see in hd

  • 12 in heights is not enough..... at least 50 cm heigh. get a tank with 100x50x50. that would be much better.

  • TheExoticFish . com

  • nice

  • that is ecactly what our angel fish did but, then the babies eventually died... :(

  • Actually get 10 inches tall and the tank would have to be at least 15 inches tall. so you could have about 2 - 3 angelfish, best 2, as long as you have a tall enough tank. The general rule for angelfish is 1 angelfish per 10 gallons

  • yea 2-3 can =] they max 4 inches lol

  • lol OR you can get a tank seperator to seperate parents from the babies.

  • hehe i got tank seperator ready just incase they eat it :)
