They all paused. It was the most awkward moment ever. I didn't know if I regretted what I did.

"Really? You must live under a rock." The one with the wavy hair said.

"Must do." I have gim a blank expression.

"Oh Savannah. Didn't your mom tell you that my boys are in a band?"

Okay. I admit. That was a shocker...and a total turn-on. Band? Awesome,dude! "No kidding? What's their band called?"

"Jonas Brothers." The curly one chimed in. I smiled. At least, he knew how to speak words besides 'wow'.

"Jonas Brothers? Wow. How creative. Wait..Your last name...isn't it....Joner?" I bit my lip.

Everyone was still for a moment and then the wavy brown haired dude laughed out loud. He was laughing on the floor with his hands on his stomach while the curly haired one was trying to stifle a laugh, which apparently he's failing at. Denise was definitely not pleased.

I panicked. "Oh dear. Did I say something wrong?"

"Let's forget you ever said that." Denise smiled. "Our last name is Jonas. Now, follow me in the kitchen. There are cookies." She walked away with a stiff back.

"Care to tell me why?" I turned to the guys.

The curly haired guy offered his hand. "I'm Nick. I'm 17." He pointed to his brother. "And he's Joe...he's...crazy."

"I can totally tell that."

The guy named Joe stood up, still laughing. "You wanna know what Joner is?"

"If it gives you pleasure, lay it on me." I told him.

"Well fans call it Joner if the Jonas Brothers have a boner." He laughed again and I turned red.

"Don't mind him. Come on. We have cookies." Nick offered as we walked to the kitchen, leaving Joe laughing his sexy ass off. Wait. Did I just say sexy? Ugh. Must be hunger.

"Your mom really bakes cookies for you guys?" I asked him as he lead me to the kitchen counter.

"Yup. Fresh from the oven." He smiled genuinely. I reflected his. Oh this is getting along so well. At least for once, my mom was right. Then I noticed him studying me.

"What?" I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing. What were you thinking?"

"Nothing too. Just that your family is really tight." I pointed at the cookies in the bowl in front of us. "For the last 10 years, I only eat cookies from a box produced in some factory. So I really find this amusing."

"Wow. I bake really fine cookies as well. Wanna try them?"

"I'd rather try you." I took a bite from a cookie and licked my lips. I saw uneasiness climb through his body, causing him to shudder. I paused and I couldn't help it. I laughed out loud. "I was kidding, dumb-ass."

He sighed heavily. "Thank God. I thought you were gonna jump at me anytime."

"You just gave me an idea." I winked. Then I heard a loud applause coming from behind. I turned around and saw Joe leaning on the wall, grinning and clapping.

"I am amused. First day and already flirting?" He walked forward to us and took a cookie.

"We were talking. Since when did the thin line between talking and flirting popped out?" I challenged him.

"Since I said so?" He chuckled. "Pfft. Mom told me you guys were engaged the moment the fucking doctor announced that they were knocked up." He chuckled to himself again. "Too Romantic. Just like Sam & Lindsay Lohan."

"Which is none of your business, I believe." I fake smiled.

"Really?" He held Nick's arms with a strong grip. "Coz this is my dear brother we're talkling about now, Miss Savannah." He shrugged. "I don't want him getting laid too soon. You might wanna try a trial version from me." He smiled mischievously and I could feel the fury building indside me.

"Joe!" Nick shouted as he pushed his brother aside. "You crossed the line."

"Me? Crossed the line? What line,Nick? I don't see one." He smiled as he looked down on the floor.

"Drop it."

"Drop what? I'm holding but a cookie! You can't expect me to let this go, brother." He grinned. "Really, Nick. Your imagination gets to you."

"JOE!"

"Your face was priceless!" He laughed. "I was trying to help you kids from yourselves."

"Well you sure didn't help." I added to Nick's glare.

"You've grown into a really rude rude girl, Savannah." He smiled. "It was better watching you in the crib before." He took the the bowl of cookies and freaked out to Denise, who just came in . "Mom, I think you forgot to put an additional gram of sugar for my cookies!" He whined as he climbed upstairs.


"Joe, where are you going? Unpack.Now!" Denise shouted after him.

"Gimme 20 mins. It's been an hour. I have to annoy Frankie."
