I forgot to mention, I did the bulb changing on a 2008 Silverado 3500 HD. Guess that might not be so much different from other such trucks. Point is, your video and different approaches, lead up to helping others get away with doing it themselves vice paying bucks to the dealer, not to mention all that wasted time waiting on the dealer, driving about to get to the dealer and what not.

I must admit, too, I resourced your video (thank you for posting, by the way), which is a lot better in approach then this other video, titled, "How to change the headlight bulb on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500". The guy here really did a lot of unnecessary work, not to mention breaking clips and suggesting to go out and buy a useless "clip popper". The wells for the plastic clips on the shroud in the grill, are too deep to use such a tool, I tried and reverted to a simple flat head.

Sort of. What I did was, once I removed only three bolts from the mud shroud, let down the bulb so I could see what I was doing (the wire was surprising long enough for this) and then, with one hand, I sort of shimmied one tab, held it with my left hand and slipped my right hand in the wheel well (bulb in plain sight, now), shimmied the other tab off, pulled carefully to remove the bulb from the socket. Surprisingly, how easy it was and I did this at night, 1st time ever, on my sister's truck

Alternatively: unscrew three bolts that secure the mud shroud, slip your hand up behind the lights, feel for socket, turn 1/4 counterclockwise, let down the bulb, unclip it and pull the bulb from socket, put the new bulb in, replace the bulb back into the light housing, turn the socket 1/4 turn clockwise, replace the three bolts from the mud shroud. DONE!
TIPS: careful not to--break socket clips, to knock the new bulb nor touch new bulb with your bare fingers, where finger oils shorten bulb life
@oceandojo Dont you need two hands to put the new bulb in? One to hold the wire/socket and the other to snap the bulb into place? I doubt this would be an easy task for most people, to work blindly like that. Assuming you can even reach the damn thing from the wheel well.
