These are simple modifications to greatly improve the flying characteristics of the 9053 Volitation helicopter. These include: increasing the distance between the coaxial blades, placing Deans type connector for the battery, attaching the battery with velcro, and increasing the size of the tail blade, removing horizontal stabilizer and decorative tail bars, putting weight in canopy, etc.

  • Great Work , I just did all these Mods tonight after being very frustrated previously and the difference is night and day !! I was actually flying into the wind !! Thanks for the info

  • @alfreckIII You're welcome!

  • Thanks for this review but one question

can you make a video on how to cut and make a new tail blade to make the thurst to improve the flying. Sorry, im new to this and i want to make sure this helicopter is good to fly. Also do you think i made the right choice by buying this one. Or do you have any preference.

    Thanks

  • @thedrumer911 See "9053 Volitation RC helicopter modifications" at 1:25 for more info. I've had my 9053 for a couple of years and had a lot of fun with it...

  • I have done your modfications to my 848B except for the stabilizer bar component. This bar also gets jammed into the top blade on a sharp turn if flying in light wind. Is it possible to shorten the metal bar and what effect would this have? Say cut it by half.

  • @Pullsee Not sure what the 848b is, but if you shorten the stabilizer (balance) bar the heli will probably become unstable.

  • @hammydude12345 I just want to know if it would be to fly inside? And if not do you have any recommendations for indoor helicopter?

  • just wanted to know if within the 7.4v batteries, i can choose more than 1500mah, since my stock battery is 1500mah :) (3000mah, for example)

the other question is, while i was wasting my heli battery, i noticed that the receiver had burned a little circuit next to the connector of the back motor. The motor i think it is fine. Do you think i have to buy a new receiver or send the broken one to an electrician? I've been so unlucky with this heli that im so so frustrated :( it's a clone FXD A68688.

  • Can i choose a 7.4v battery with 5000mah? or does it have to be 1500-2000mah?
