nice swing feel in the melody! maybe experiment with some different voicings for the left hand - the ones you are using are good, but try doing some sparser voicings sometimes or playing around with them until you find some more that you like!!

@geoffpeterstrio I appreciate the feedback - these are just using the standard rootless voicings with 9ths and 13ths. Do you have any suggestions for sparse voicings? Everytime I try new shapes, they sound too empty, or clash too much. I am learning "Misty", lots of major 251s, but at a slow speed it is really apparent that my chords don't really change texture wise.

@RobDerbyCollege no problem! you can just play the third and 7th in the left hand... or the root and third.... I also like doing clusters or chromatics. check out "bud powell voicings" on google and also The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine. :) cheers -G

@geoffpeterstrio haha... yes I have just started that book, that's where I got the 9/13 voicings from! (strange how you learn those before the 3/7 shapes...) I am playing "Misty" with a singer now, so I am trying some sparser voicings so as not to dominate the sound and be "muddy". I'm still trying to see what sounds I like but I uploaded a little demo, using 7ths in the left hand. So much to learn... ;)
