  • PHYSICS LESSON...(discounting wind/air resistiance) if you shoot a gun straight-forward (no arc) the bullet will fly and fall until it hits something. If theres no wall or anything, the bullet flys until it hits the ground. The length of time for the bullet to fly from your barrel until it hits the ground is exactly the same as if you held the round in your hand at shoulder height and simply dropped it. Gravity affects it the same, whether dropped from your hand or fired from the gun...

  • @Justen1980 Sweet. Good to know :)

  • Damn you are that high up and there is no wind?

  • @Tacotruck1166 At the time I wasn't aware of wind :D

  • Nice. 4x scope for a 1400m shot. :P

  • @xtelevisionset Oh, yes.

  • @ppitm gravity does effect everything the same regardless of speed so dropping a bullet and shooting it out doesn't matter. Unless he was wrong about something else then IDK

  • @Justen1980 That's only exactly true in a vacuum.

  • Why would you want to discount air resistance? Because of the shape of the bullet, the air actually helps hold it up, which is also why wind has a greater effect than one would think.

  • @damagkhrab he's talking about shooting a bullet horizontally and dropping it from the same height u shot it from. they would hit the ground at the same time. key word is horizontally : )

  • @Justen1980 lets say i fire vertically up in the sky.... wud the bullet take same time to reach the ground as the round from my hand would???

  • Sniper scopes are designed to make lining up your shot easier. Use the dots along the axis, they're there for a reason. They represent distances the bullet will drop depending on range. a target at 500m should centered with the second dot down from the crosshair and so on

  • @Justen1980 My god, I just realised that. That is probably the most interesting thing I heard today.

  • cool, anything to make sniping harder, because it's hard to respect snipers in games where any noob can pick up the rifle and get bullseyes without any effort. The game Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad is doing some cool things for scoped-rifles, as well. They're gonna allow you to adjust the crosshair for range, so in theory, the "skilled" sniper will learn to judge distance as he learns the maps. If you get sniped from across the map in these kinds of games, it'll be hard to complain
