I just arrived in Seoul from the United States (or should I say America?) yesterday and stumbled upon this video. Needless to say I was taken back when Dr. Patell looked at the camera and said "so if you travel to Seoul..." A great piece of intellectual candy for the day, thank you for posting.

Thank you so much, NYU and Dr. Patell! This is a better education than I could ever afford, and it helps me become a better high school English teacher. Don't listen to the jokers below me. I'm so grateful that you put this out there for free!

Am I the only one who likes him? I'm interested in reading without the assumption that these classic writers are great, instead with curiosity as to whether they deserve their fame. I didn't like the Obama ass kissing, but it's nothing against Obama, I just don't like ass kissing in general and teachers are supposed to be at least mildly objective.

American Literature?.... I have learned nothing . Oh, except a Marxists view of culture, and why a one world order is good.... scary. God Bless America and it's core of freedom.
