Here is my owner's report / review of the FNP 9. I really like it and enjoy shooting it. It's a nice looking pistol, with great features at a competitive price. While the FNP-9 is not the best in every catagory, it is very competitive in all areas - like weight and magazine capacity. It has nice polymer frame with good controls, takes down easy, and has been reliable at the range. These features mean it'll be a pistol that you will enjoy owning and shooting for years. It has moderate recoil, high quality parts, and a hardcase with three 16 round magazines that means this pistol offers a lot features that make it very appealling. FNH has also included large metal rails for the slide, plus a nice barrel - features that aren't easy to see, but you'll notice the longer you own the gun. They are DA / SA or there is a DA only model option for the owner. Plus other finishes for you to pick from.

Take a look at it and I think you"ll find it's a fine handgun. Don't rush out and buy another gun before you check out he FNP9!! Make sure you give it a chance too - you'll be glad you did..

  • @joescmu Sorry to hear your experience wasn't good. I've been very pleased with both of my FNs and the service they have provided. They sent new followers for the 9mm.

  • @nashi55 Well that's great.....for you. Can you give me the name of the rep you have spoken to. I like the gun and I just want it fixed or exchanged.. Thanks

  • @joescmu Just saw this post...I saw his name & number on the fnforum dot net site. Search there and I'm sure you'll find it. Seems like it was in a thread about the slide not locking back. I guess he's still with them in VA.

  • I just bought this thing. I love how it feels just need to take it to the range!

  • i just picked mine up!

  • Most beautifull gun I know.

  • @joescmu Also, the Kahrs are great. Well built, though I'm not a fan of the long/heavy trigger travel and crazy long trigger reset. Its personal preference, but I'd probably go check into the 30 more. Also maybe look at the compact smith M&P's. Dunno what state your in, but assuming its not california you should have quite a few options. M&P, XD/XDM, PX4storm compacts, and if moneys not a problem look into the HK p2000 series. All of those are great options, but theres other stuff out there.

  • @joescmu I'd suggest leaning away from the Kel-Tec. For the price, they're not TERRIBLE though if you spend minimally more you can get something far superior. Check into the newer Ruger SR9c and SR40c series. Ruger boasts the thinnest double-stacked magazine grip and I've seen REDICULOUS recoil-reduction. They've got a good spring system and a massy slide, overall they operate VERY smoothly. Even in the 40, which I'm usually against. And one of the only striker-fired weapons to have a safety.

  • @Entropytouch ive been doing research on sub compact guns to carry. So many to choose from. any suggestions? Im leaning toward kel tek pf9, glock 30, or a kahr. any ideas.

  • @joescmu Ah good man, I'm glad you got it sorted out. I know the feeling though. You spend money and you want to make sure it wasn't wasted so, definitely not a bad thing. I'm glad its performing for you now :)

  • Great job on the video. Very informative and helpful. Just purchased and received my FNP-9. I'm a happy owner!

  • @Entropytouch I still have the gun and it has never failed so my initial experience was bad. It is slanted but Ive got over it since then. I know they make a lot of our military weapons, thats why I went with them. You are absolutely correct about the position of the issue. Honestly, at first I was irritated mostly because the gun shop noticed it but was unhelpful then FN didnt seem to care but life goes on and it has been a good gun.
